Are my 4th edition WriteShop I & II materials compatible with the 5th edition materials?

The 4th edition WriteShop I & II Teacher’s manual is compatible with the 5th edition student workbooks. Some of the pre-writing activities and Skill Builders in the 5th edition student workbooks have been updated leading to minor differences in the 4th edition answer keys. You may also notice a few small differences between the teacher’s lesson plans and the student workbook instructions.

Changes to the 5th edition Student Workbooks include

• Updated introduction and instructions
• New content for Lesson 15 (First-Person Limited Omniscience)
• Updated content in several lessons, such as essay instructions for Lessons 25-29 in WriteShop II.
• Updated student & teacher checklists
• No religious content

Changes to the 5th edition Teacher’s Manual include

• Updated introduction
• Updated student examples section
• Updated answer keys for Skill Builders and pre-writing activities
• Refreshed and updated schedules for easier planning
• No religious content
